Alice in Wonderland Bridal Tea Party

I have always been one to go over the top with imagination and creativity when it comes to parties. My daughter is getting married. Her favorite book is Alice in Wonderland. I just sat and wondered what would we be able to do with an Alice in Wonderland theme? Ideas just flooded my brain. Nothing was sacred. All of the items from the book and the Disney cartoon had me thinking and creating for months. We had everyone dress in either Alice inspired costume or Tea Attire. Everyone who showed looked wonderful. I had a local printing company make signs for me and had our wedding photographer come and take pictures of her wonderful day.  Photo credit goes to Mike with www.atxpics.com.

Here are a few of ideas that were thought up with her bridesmaids.

Stacked Tea Cups secured with a little bit of Hot Glue then added Babies Breath to them.

Took a plastic table cloth and doubled it over then taped to a table to make a ruffled skirt. Added hearts and streamers. The addition of her favorite American Girl doll with her tea set on the mantel rounded out the decor.

Lets not forget Tea Time!

Business cards with printed clip art and drink me signs added to tea bags for party favors.

Vintage Tea Cups that were collected at yard and estate sales. Look to your local area to see if they can be rented as well. On the tea cups we added Drink me tags.

Decks of cards were hole punched with a heart punch and then strung across the room.

And added a little flair to of cards to the decorations outside.

Did a banner of Sarah in Wonderland along with the cards. Added Paper flowers created out of tissue paper at the front door. With pinwheel flowers and a cheshire cat and the outside entrance was done.
The cheshire cat I had made thru a local printing company. ursignstore.com

The bride is also a Harry Potter fan. Put 9 3/4 for the number on the Mad Hatter's hat

The bride in her Alice Costume. The banner was made with scrapbook paper and twine. Very easy to do and came out great.

And of course we had to have the card men painting the roses red. There were also flamingos there.

Did paper lanterns in the tea room. Those Command hooks are fabulous!!

Painted a chair for my Alice just for her to keep. Will post a another blog post with the chair later.

Used scrap book paper and doilies as table runners. Added drink me tabs to the tea pots as well.

Another view of the tea room and the lanterns.

I can not express how much fun this was for me to do for my daughter. She was very surprised and had a wonderful time with all of her friends and family. Hopefully you can take some of my ideas and have your own fabulous tea party as well.

Keep on Creating!
